Many people think of Cambodia as a country that is rich in natural resources, but with decades of wars and internal conflicts it has left Cambodia as one of the world’s poorest countries.

Health care

Without proper sewage and waste water treatment, many people that live in poor regions are left with contaminated water. In Cambodia, more than 60,000 children die each year mainly from waterborne illnesses.

Although Cambodia’s national wealth has steadily been increasing since the very first democratic elections in the 1993, there is still a third of the population that still does not have the resources they need in order to substance healthy lives The average life expectancy in Cambodia is just about 62 years old. A third of the Children under the age of 5 are malnourished and one in every 110 women who gives birth each year dies.  Lack of information about proper nutrition is one of the key causes of under nutrition.  It is most severe among children under five, and pregnant and nursing women.

Cambodia needs Canadian international Development Agency  to help provide them with better medical equipment to be able to treat the sick and help those who are currently well, like creating vaccines to prevents diseases like HIV and Aids, and providing vitamins to keep peoples immunes system strong. There is more then 2 million children that die each year from disease that could have been prevented from vaccines.  Cambodians also desperately need access clean drinking water so people do not suffer the consequences of drinking contaminated water.  They also need to be provided with nutrition counselling.
